I’m so very proud to showcase my beautiful and first ever fine art portrait session from a gorgeous PreSchool in Consett, County Durham. The kids were simply amazing and proof that you don’t have to have an ‘out there’ personality to take a beautiful photo.

No forced smiles, just kids being kids and unique pictures that reflect their true and wonderful personalities! I mean, c’mon, just look at these gorgeous faces and those fabulous eyelashes.

It’s your school photo, but it is also ‘fine art’ for your walls!

To be completely honest, all those years ago, I wasn’t sure I wanted to do school photography at first. I worried it would mean forcing smiles out of children, something that goes against everything I love about photographing kids. I’ve always been drawn to a more documentary approach, capturing real moments rather than staged ones. But when I stepped into that first nursery, I quickly realised that my nature and way with children allowed me to bring out something special in them – effortlessly. No awkward posing, no pressure, just kids being themselves in front of my camera.

Seeing the results, I knew I had something different to offer families – something real, something beautiful. That’s why I’ve decided to offer this service to schools and nurseries across the Northeast. Because school photos don’t have to be generic; they can be timeless pieces of art that truly celebrate a child’s personality.

 

 

As a mum myself, I was tired of the same old school photos – the ones I’d stopped buying because they ended up stuffed in a drawer. I knew the ‘school photo’ could be done differently – completely differently!
