I grew up as what was called “Blue Blood” My Dad worked for Ford Motor Company. People who worked for Ford mostly did for life. And their children were therefore blue bloods too. People would joke that if you cut us open there’d be a blue oval running through the middle.
I therefore became pretty indoctrinated with the values of Henry Ford and how he ran his business.
Henry Ford changed the way of life for the average person. He believed that cars and convenient travel shouldn’t be confined to the privileged few.
His vision was to build cars that were practical and affordable.
And with his mass production techniques, the assembly line, he managed to do just that.
I feel here at Unscripted Portraits, we’re not dissimilar.
Why doesn’t every average family deserve to have amazing photos of their children?
Why doesn’t every child deserve a decent school photo?
Why should school photos only come out for embarrassment purposes at 18th birthday parties?
I believe school portraits can be affordable and beautiful.
Not fussy – no silly props, no forced smiles – just simply showing their personality.
It saddens me that so many families and carers all over the world are frankly ripped off annually. Made to feel guilty. Made to feel that they “should” purchase a bloody awful photo of their child…. just because… and then it never sees the light of day. Why should families, when they’re struggling enough, have to part with their hard earned money to buy naff ol’ photos!?! It’s not right. It’s not fair. For families who can’t afford portrait sessions privately, a school portrait might be their only chance to document their child’s life – why should they be penalised?
Why we launched Unscripted Portraits
We feel there is an alternative. And that every family rich or poor deserves quality photos of their children at reasonable prices. Now don’t get me wrong – we’re not as cheap as I’d like to be. Heck, if I could, we’d do this for free. But as you can appreciate we also have houses to run and mouths to feed and you’d be surprised at how much the business costs are. But we continue to look for ways everyday to keep our prices as low as possible and offer the best packages for our families.
We hope to continue to grow and offer our service to more and more settings and families up and down the country. We know that families deserve so much more when they part with their money. And we know that we can deliver that.
